The report analyses the PowerLine Communications technology as a segment of the world telecommunication market of the "last mile" problems solutions. Regulatory framework and international standards preparation, determining the application of the PLC technology, the interrelation of PLC-solutions integration and problems of electromagnetic compatibility are shown.
Within the framework of the work performance there were examined proposals of 36 leading equipment suppliers for the PLC-based networks constructing. There has been made the review of the existing technologies, platforms and solutions based on the PLC. The review of element base and equipment, intended for the realization of complex PLC-solutions and "In -Door"-class solutions is made. There is conducted the analysis of the realization of acting projects and prospect plans of PLC-based networks development in foreign countries.
In the review the evaluation of prospects and possibilities of application of high-speed PLC-solutions for the communication services provision in Russia is conducted. There is also examined the regulatory framework of Russia from the point of view of PLC-technology integration as the solutions for the operator class subscriber access networks.
Within the framework of the work performed special features of the application of high-speed PLC-solutions based on domestic electrical networks are examined, and there is also conducted the comparative analysis of the PLC-based broadband access networks and other technologies. State and prospects of the PLC-technology integrating in Russia.
The work will make it possible to focus the attention of Russian telecommunication community on PLC as on a possible variant for broadband access services provision and will allow to optimize taking the decision choosing the last mile technology. |
