Single Manhattanite Renny Shuler is searching for true love while burning in corporate hell. At thirty years old, she is tired of serial dating, so she attempts to turn a one-night stand with Georgie, a bad-boy radio personality, into a relationship. Meanwhile her shrewish boss schemes to sabotage Renny’s big presentation. If she fails, she’ll be hitting the bricks, but if she wins the account a corner office awaits. Smack in the middle of this life and love juggling act, Renny’s mother is diagnosed with lung cancer. Trying to cope with her mother’s mortality, Renny begins to question what she wants out of life. Covering the monthly rent and having Mr. Saturday Night stay the night to read through the morning Sunday Times are no longer enough.

No matter what—dolled up, fed up or stood up—Renny never gives up on herself, or her future.

Cosmo’s Deli is Kurtzman’s first novel and was a semi-finalist in the William Faulkner William Wisdom contest for a novel-in-progress.

About The Author:

Sharon Kurtzman’s work has appeared in the Raleigh News and Observer “Sunday Reader” series and the North Raleigh News and has been recognized by the Charlotte Writers Club, the Writers Workshop of Asheville and the NC State University Short Fiction Contest. Her first novel, Cosmo’s Deli, was a semi-finalist in the William Faulkner William Wisdom contest for a novel-in-progress.

She was raised in New Jersey. A graduate of Syracuse University, Kurtzman worked for ten years in television marketing. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and two children.
