AlohaBruce

Aloha! My name is Bruce Fisher. I’m a Hawaii Vacation Evangelist and the founder of Hawaii-Aloha.com. I have lived here in the islands for 18 years and have developed a special affinity and enthusiasm for this wonderful place. I’m so grateful that each and every day I can help folks plan and make their vacation dreams come true.

Over the last few years I have embraced blogging, podcasting, vodcasting and social networking because it has given me the opportunity to share the things I love about Hawaii and offer valuable information to readers. I think it’s very important that, when you visit Hawaii, you are able to connect in a real way with the people who live here. My goal has been to use this blog to help establish that connection.

Our blog is similar to a playbook you can use to learn about Hawaii from the perspective of people in the tourism industry who actually live here in Hawaii. It’s designed to help you learn how things are done in the islands and how you can be more comfortable while you’re here. Additionally, we hope that this blog will give you some insight into and appreciation of things Hawaiian beyond anything you might learn from travel books, magazines or even surfing the Internet. We cover every imaginable subject about Hawaii — from the meaning of a Lei greeting to the Dances of the Dolphins. The postings reflect the Hawaiian Islands, their culture and their lifestyle as accurately and thoroughly as possible. The tone is anecdotal, breezy, and devoid of any commercialism. Start at the beginning, or skip around. It’s all fun stuff to know.

Kevin Gawthrope

Simply put, Brand Evangelist Central is my blog, and it includes posts covering a wide spectrum of the name-brands that I've had the fortunate pleasure of working with over my 15-year career to date. I want to share with the world how a brand, with a little help from some skilled evangelists in the arenas of web design, development, usability, search, and social media, helped move the needle. These are stories from a moment in time of a brand's lifespan, mixed with a little dash of my personal observations, experience, and viewpoints. About Kevin Gawthrope... Kevin brings over 15 years of online strategy, marketing and design experience to Isagenix and the larger Phoenix marketing & design community. Originally from Boston, he has worked for industry-leading interactive agencies such as DIGITAS and Cramer-Krasselt, where he managed the online brands for over a dozen Fortune 500 clients, including IBM, FedEx, AT&T, Kraft, MGM, and Disney. Kevin has also led the in-house interactive departments and redesigned the corporate Web sites for Staples and US Airways. In his 2+ years with Isagenix, Kevin and his skilled team have launched an award-winning redesign of Isagenix.com, along with the design of the new user-experience of their associate back office application. In addition, and through the partnership with the in-house Legal team, Kevin launched Isagenix’s social media strategy this past summer to amazing acceptance and success – and is now analyzing how the Isagenix community around social media is directly impacting acquisition and retention goals for the company. With the advent of new policies & procedures that ensure a solid Internet marketing strategy for Isagenix Associates, Kevin has identified the intersection of social networking and network marketing – but also how the right combinations of content and tactics can benefit other vertical markets. Kevin wants to share these same concepts to retailers, entrepreneurs, franchise and small business owners in any profession looking to grow their community of brand evangelists and grow their individual businesses using these social media tools. Kevin has two Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Massachusetts in Graphic Design and in Photography/Electronic Imaging.

Michael Martin has been a successful trader for 20 years. He’s been teaching for the last 11 of those years, mostly through UCLA Extension and the CFA Institute.

During that time, he also served as Associate Editor at Trader Monthly. Now he blogs at The Huffington Post, the Ludwig von Mises Institute, as well as this blog.

He has condensed all the valuable lessons he’s learned through his own reading, his own trading experiences, and that from having interacted with some of the world’s best traders, and created the Sequential Certificate Program in Commodity Studies. It is an online, self-study program available through UCLA Extension that is available anytime you have an internet connection, 24/7.

Examples listed on this blog are mostly for beginning and intermediate traders, while the podcasts and video are geared towards more advanced traders. While reading the posts and examples, don’t make any assumptions other than the facts given.

MgCiv

What is alternative new source of energy to oil?
60% of Japan’s land will be covered with solar cells if demand for energy in Japan is supplied just with them. Underground will be filled with Hydrogen tanks in Hydrogen society. There is not sufficient Lithium for EVs. Moreover, electric energy will have to be increased up to 150% of the present time to supply demand of water in the world by 2025.
“Magnesium-based energy cycle” is a solution for these problems.

Nora's Mews

Nora is a gray bulls-eye tabby cat who likes to play the piano. Artists and musicians Betsy Alexander and Burnell Yow! (B&B) adopted her from a shelter in 2004. Just one year later, Nora, on her own, began sitting at the piano and playing notes with both paws on the keys. This became a daily occurrence, much to the delight and amazement of B&B, their friends, and Betsy’s many private piano students. Nora especially loves “sitting in” and playing duets with the students.

In January of 2007, B&B posted a video of Nora on YouTube.com. Responses to the video came pouring in from all over the world. The news media quickly took note as television, radio, and magazines picked up the story. To date, that first video has been viewed 17 million times, and Nora’s amazing story has been on TV from China to Finland, from New Zealand to Lebanon, and through venues as wide-ranging as Martha Stewart, Animal Planet, The Today Show and the National Science Foundation. Nora even received an autographed photo from Billy Joel inscribed “To the piano cat from the piano man.”

In the Spring of 2009, Lithuanian composer and conductor Mindaugas Pie?aitis, inspired by Nora’s playing, wrote and conducted a new work titled CATcerto, which features Nora as guest soloist with the Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra via a large video screen behind the performers. To find out more about Mr. Pie?aitis and CATcerto, please go to http://www.piecaitis.eu and http://www.catcerto.com.

Nora keeps in touch with her many fans through her blog, Nora's Mews, as well as through Facebook and Twitter. You can also find out more about her (and her personal assistants, Burnell and Betsy), at www.ravenswingstudio.com.

Offsite WOD

CrossFit Tallahassee presents the Offsite WOD. The Offsite WOD is a CrossFit-style workout designed with minimum equipment requirements that make it doable while traveling away from your home affiliate or garage gym.

To fully reap the benefits of doing these WODs keep in mind these three points.

1. Mechanics before consistency.
2. Consistency before intensity.
3. Intensity equals results.

To safely achieve results you have to fully comply with each item in order.

First, understand the movement you are being asked to perform. By understand I mean you need to know exactly how to properly perform the movement.

Second, more than knowing how to perform a particular movement you have to be able to do it correctly every time or nearly every time you attempt it. As Coach Glassman says you need to achieve virtuosity, that is doing the common uncommonly well. This is our goal at CrossFit Tallahassee and it should be yours too if you take on these WODs.

Third, After you have achieve the first two items hit it hard! Go all out, don't take prisoners, TRAIN HARD!

Have fun!

Water Walking

My name is Matt Edmundson and I am a husband, father and entrepreneur. I currently live in Liverpool, England with my amazing wife (Sharon) and 3 Kids (Josh, Zak and Zoe). For me, life is an exciting journey, and one that I am really enjoying. This blog is all about my journey and what I find interesting and fascinating along the way – summarised into 3 streams of thought that I have called: Business, Rhemabytes and Experiments.

Business

I am the co-owner of a company called Klafs Technical and we design, install and service thermal spas (rooms such as saunas and steam rooms). Dan (my business partner) and I have been running various companies together for a while, and Klafs is our latest successful venture. I have (or still do in some cases) run companies in some fascinating industries, including: web design, accountancy and book keeping, small business services, import and exports, real estate and property and even anti-spiking devices for bottles. Some have been successful. Most have failed (but my successes outweigh my failures, which is important).

This section is all about my business journey.

Rhemabytes

Since the age of eighteen I have been a Christ follower. I am actively involved in my church here in Liverpool and have the opportunity to do things with other churches around the UK and also worldwide. Here you will find collections of teaching, thoughts, ideas and even a book that I am trying to write.

I am especially interested in how faith plays a role in business and the power that happens when those two worlds collide. You will find on the resources section some downloads from a business school that I set up at the church.

Experiments

For me, I love to try new things. It is part of my DNA.

Challenge. Explore. Initiate

That is what I do – do here you will find stuff all about my experiments in life that do not fit neatly into the other categories – such as how I am doing trying to learn a new language or even some Photoshop tutorials if you are into photography a little.

Other Info

For those of you who really want to know, I graduated in 1995 from the University of Liverpool with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy and Finance. I am an avid fan of Liverpool football club (it was the reason that I chose to come to this university). I grew up in Derby and also spent some magical time living in North Carolina, USA and I am a bit of a gadget man (love my gadgets). I had a serious accident just after Zak was born where I put my hand through a table saw and nearly destroyed 3 of my fingers. Oh, and I love driving fast cars…
