Army Mountaineering Guide

Mountaineering or mountain climbing is the sport, hobby or profession of hiking, skiing, and climbing mountains. While mountaineering began as attempts to reach the highest point of unclimbed mountains, it has branched into specialisations that address different aspects of the mountain and consists of three areas: rock-craft, snow-craft and skiing, depending on whether the route chosen is over rock, snow or ice. All require experience, athletic ability, and technical knowledge to maintain safety.

This field manual details techniques soldiers and leaders must know to cope with mountainous terrain. These techniques are the foundation upon which the mountaineer must build. They must be applied to the various situations encountered to include river crossings, glaciers, snow-covered mountains, ice climbing, rock climbing, and urban vertical environments.

Elements - Periodic Table Pro

This application presents the periodic table of the chemical elements.

About
*****
The periodic table of the chemical elements is a tabular display of the chemical elements. Although precursors to this table exist, its invention is generally credited to Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869, who intended the table to illustrate recurring ("periodic") trends in the properties of the elements. The layout of the table has been refined and extended over time, as new elements have been discovered, and new theoretical models have been developed to explain chemical behavior.

Features
*******
- The periodic table (zoomable and in some devices pinch-zoomable)
- Descriptions and illustrations of the elements (touch element for information)

The following properties are displayed for each element if the value is currently known by science.

Survival Guide

Survival skills are techniques a person may use in a dangerous situation (e.g. natural disasters) to save themselves or others (see also bushcraft). Generally speaking, these techniques are meant to provide the basic necessities for human life: water, food, shelter, habitat, and the need to think straight, to signal for help, to navigate safely, to avoid unpleasant interactions with animals and plants, and for first aid. In addition, survival skills are often basic ideas and abilities that ancient humans had to use for thousands of years, so these skills are partially a reenactment of history. Many of these skills are the ways to enjoy extended periods of time in remote places, or a way to thrive in nature. Some people use these skills to better appreciate nature and for recreation, not just survival.

TuTu Train - Kids

Description
***********
Finally TuTu Train has been ported to iPhone/iPod touch.

The game itself is a simple 2D racing game featuring old school music and graphics (commodore 64 style).

The TuTu Train is a young and eager to learn locomotive with two wagons fully loaded with coal. It is your task to help TuTu get past all the tracks available in the game. The game contains nine tracks that are categorized into three difficulty levels (easy, medium, and hard). The tracks/levels feature normal straigths, slippery iceworlds and different kinds of moving grounds and other obstacles to overcome. The idea of the game is to drive through each level as fast as possible and the faster time the better. There is also a high score list where one can see how fast one has driven each level.

The TuTu train itself is almost indestructible. The weakest part of the locomotive are the joints connecting the wheels to the chassis and the joints connecting each wagon and the locomotive. These joints may be bent, however one may still try to steer the TuTu train if possible.

TuTu train feateures two UI control modes. One mode that contains visible buttons as they have proven to be better for young kids playing. The other mode, which is intended for older people playing the game, hides the control buttons and allows steering of the train by touching the right or left part of the screen. The second mode allows more of the game to be displayed as no buttons are taking any space in the screen.

REMEMBER! Do not drive to fast even if TuTu is eager. It may result in crashes.

NOTE:
*****
No Internet connection is needed to play the game.
